Hiatus

We’ve been reading other people’s blogs for a long time. There seems to come a time when some or all of the authors feel the need for a break from writing. The Every Saturday Morning contributors are feeling the need for a break now.

There is still so much to explore and write about concerning reproductive justice, abortion access, clinic escorts and our little patch of the sidewalk.

We have many loyal readers and we will miss all of your thoughtful comments. You are all part of our community and we hope you will continue the discussions when we return. We will make our needed break as short as possible.

Thank you for understanding.

  1. We’ll be here waiting to hear when you feel up to returning. In the meantime, know that you do an incredible job under trying circumstances. And have yourself a great holiday season.

  2. The job you all volunteer for, the hours you put in day after day have got to be wearying, and sometimes I am sure that rehashing the awfulness on a blog can be more than you want to deal with.

I thank you for the time you put in on the street and on here, putting your money where your mouth is, so to speak.

Have a good break, come back refreshed, and know that your words help to galvanize those of us who might otherwise remain apathetic.

  3. As a fairly recent follower of your blog, I had missed a lot of the blog’s earlier posts. As I was going back and reading the posts about pro-choice and pro-access, I couldn’t help but think we can’t have one without the other. Without choice, there is no or very limited access. With no access (for everyone), then there is no choice.

    • KyBorn,

They do go hand-in-hand. The movement away from the term choice is driven by the antis’ appropriation of the word. It has been used as a term of consumerism: what will you choose, the 52″ TV or the 36″ TV? You can just choose another option. It is used to imply a trivialization of the decision to continue a pregnancy or not, without taking into account the individual client’s life circumstances and/or health. You are right though, without access there is no choice.

      Thank you,

  4. Honestly, with the holidays around the corner, who can blame you? Please enjoy this time with your families, friends and loved ones. Let us all be thankful for what we have and what we can hope to obtain for humanity’s sake.

  5. You do an amazing job, and I don’t know how you even do it, of blogging well and often. Enjoy some downtime and recharge your batteries. I’ll be here when you’re ready to come back. 8^)

  6. Thank you for everything you do for the women who need the legitimate medical services the clinic provides. Thank you for helping women in their time of need when faced with ignorant bullies who have nothing better to do than harass them and their medical providers. Take as much time as you need, we’ll be here when you return.

    • Oubli and Longtail,

And this is why we consider you both part of our community. Both of you are loyal readers, frequent commenters, contributors and had the exact same response. We won’t be gone too long, guys. Give us at least couple of weeks and then we will be able to accept guest posts and hopefully start our regular publishing schedule again.

      Thank you for your support,
      Servalbear

  7. Would you possibly consider accepting/posting guest articles? I mean, I don’t escort, but I could probably help out with writing about other things related to our cause.

      • OK SB. Have a lovely break, a wonderful Thanksgiving (I am deeply thankful for you and this blog), and get some rest. You’ve earned it. 🙂
