Sidewalk Snippet ~ {7/30/12}

The client and companion pulled to park at the curb. When I went to talk to them, I explained about the public lot across the street. They moved their car to the lot and I went across to help them park in the public rows and figure out the pay box. The box where you pay is confusing for most people. The spaces are marked 1-20, but the pay slots are marked 101-120. Then you have to figure out how to feed bills or change. It is a trick to fold bills just right so they will slide into the slot.

They arrived about 30 minutes before the doors opened and while we were talking, they asked about where they could get coffee, specifically where was the nearest Starbucks. After getting directions to the nearest Starbucks, they walked down the sidewalk on the opposite side of the clinic.

Shortly after, they came back with coffee. Since I was going back over to the lot, we walked towards their car together just chatting about downtown Louisville.

The companion grabbed my hand and gave it a squeeze saying, “Thank you for being here.” I was glad I was there.
