Escorts: 19

Protesters: 35

Cops: 1 regular sheriff, 2 squad cars when we arrived, left around 8am

It was a really quiet morning. We only had a hand full of clients and for the most part our more aggressive protesters were either unusually calm, or not present at all.  Sasquatch Dave had a new friend who was quite aggressive and caused us the most bother. But per usual, the escorts did an awesome job holding space for clients and supporting them through the crowd.

Angela brought her hubbie out today with her other cronnies. She had a few people speaking in tongues and a few others praying over the clinic.

  1. I live in Louisville. I’ve often wished I could volunteer as a clinic escort, but I think my mouth would get me in trouble.

I didn’t know there were so many protesters here – we saw two who were part of the “40 days of life” or WTF ever on our way to the Misfits show last October. We parked near the clinic. The protesters were gone when we left the show. Total dedication, huh?

I’d be willing to run the gauntlet with a donation. Does this clinic accept them, or would it be better to donate directly to the NAF?

    • Thanks so much for your support. The Louisville Clinic Escorts are not a group that is set up to accept donations, as we are autonomous individuals who come together for a common good. We would ask however that all monetary donations go to A-Fund inc. A 501c3 organization based in KY that provides financial assistance to low income residents of KY to obtain abortions. Please send your donation to P.O. Box 5516 Louisville KY 40255-0516. Checks and money orders should be made out to A-Fund inc.
      Thank you so much.

      • Thank you, both for the work you do and for the address. I want to help somehow and I will.

I’m reminded of this blog every time I see a certain car around downtown that has to be one of those protesters. It has the anti-choice bumper stickers, has printed out and taped words in the back window, and one day I saw a big cardboard cross in the back seat with a bunch of printed material taped to it. That day, the car still had a paper dealer tag! Too soon for a license plate, but they probably had the car plastered with propaganda the minute they signed the papers.

Those people piss me off so much that it’s hard for me to articulate it without certain words.

  2. Why do they speak made-up gibberish while they protest (i.e., in tongues)? Are they trying to prove God is speaking through them? I can’t think of a reason why they’d to that other than to just be a wacko crazy fundie.

P.S., bless you and all the work you do. I volunteer at a PP clinic in Michigan with their prenatal care program and at most there was only one regular protester I encountered. I can’t imagine dealing with so many!
